Yacht Broker – Port Solent

Clipper Marine is one of the largest yacht brokers and boat sales companies in the UK and Spain, including the Balearics. We are the exclusive distributors for Bavaria Yachts (both power and sail) for the UK and Spain and also Greenline Yachts & Bali Catamarans for the UK and Ireland and Regal boats for the South East of the UK. We typically sell upwards of 300 boats a year through wholly owned offices, not using a franchise model.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic broker to join our team in our office in Port Solent Marina, Portsmouth. Candidates will be experienced in a similar sales environment, for example, boats, cars, motorhomes, property etc. The candidate will be expected to sell used boats as well as new boats from the world leading yards that we are proud to represent.

Excellent interpersonal skills (face to face, written and via telephone) are essential as is the ability to develop relationships with clients. The successful candidate will be experienced in working with HNWIs and will offer the professionalism and service required.

Experience in the boat sales/brokerage industry is desired but not essential. A keen will to succeed is a must.

Weekend work is a pre-requisite in the yacht brokerage industry and so is some time abroad at international boat shows.

The position will suit a successful, experienced, confident person who is keen to move ahead in their career.

You will be an important member of the team and will be joining a dynamic, professional and successful company that prides itself on its forward thinking and ability to adjust to changing market conditions.

The salary package is very competitive within the industry and is based on an industry-leading basic salary plus generous commission with no limit on earnings.

Experienced Sailing Yacht Marine Engineer/Technician – Swanwick Marina

Clipper Marine, as part of its continued expansion, is looking to recruit an experienced sailing yacht engineer to support our clients.

We are looking for a multi-skilled engineer who is capable of commissioning vessels from start to finish as well as carrying out warranty & service work.

The ideal candidate would be a competent sailor and comfortable taking boats out on sea trials and handovers with clients.

Preferred Skills:

Rigging (dressing and installing new rigs as well as replacing rigs)

A good level of sailing competence to enable sea trials with clients/owners

PDI & Commissioning of new boats

GRP/Gel repairs

Good knowledge of power and sailboat systems

Woodwork/repairs (basic)

General repairs including tracking and fixing water leaks

Boat handling Power and Sail (essential)

Electrical systems

Language: English

The role:

Supporting vessel warranty and fitting customer upgrades in the field

Undertaking service work

Preparing and supporting boats at boat shows

Ensuring vessels are left clean and presented as per our client’s expectations

Undertaking and managing the commissioning of new boats and any PDI inspections needed

Processing warranty claims with manufacturers

The package is very competitive and the ideal candidate can start immediately although we will wait for the right person.

Boat Maintenance Technician / Weekend Sales – Cobbs Quay Marina

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic boat technician to join our team in our Cobbs Quay office in Poole.

This position will suit someone who enjoys an active, outdoor role plus also wants to grow into a sales role. The position will consist of working on boats, carrying out general maintenance for a portion of the week then being office based and getting involved in the sale of new and used boats. This will include working alternate weekends, which are our busiest time for sales.

Clipper Marine Spain as part of its continued expansion is looking to recruit an experienced technician to support our clients in the Balearics and mainland Spain.

We are looking for a multi skilled engineer who is capable of commissioning vessels from start to finish. Focusing mainly on but not limited to our Bavaria range of sail and motor yachts.

The ideal candidate would be a competent sailor and comfortable taking boats out on sea trials and handovers with clients.

Ideal skills required:

  • GRP repairs (basic)
  • Good knowledge of power and sail boat systems
